Having played just two seasons in the MLU, Katz has already established himself as one of the most dangerous scoring threats in the league, despite playing 65% of his points on the Boston Whitecaps D-line. A talented defender, Katz, a prolific scorer, is also incredibly talented after the turn, completing over 90% of his passes in 2016. After winning the MLU Championship in his first season in the league, Katz only improved in his second year as a member of the Whitecaps.

In 2016, Katz was one of only two Whitecaps to finish in the Top 5 on the team in goals (17), assists (12) and blocks (7), helping Boston to their fourth consecutive appearance in the MLU postseason. Katz was recognized for his strong campaign in 2016, as he was named a finalist for Eastern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, MLU Breakout Player of the Year and Eastern Conference Most Valuable Player.
